A selection of well equipped cottages set in 40 acres of pasture and woodland - within a beautiful valley close to Paignton, Totnes and Torquay. Bordering the South Hams area of South Devon an area of outstanding natural beauty, Newbarn Farm boasts spectacular panoramic views all the way to Dartmoor. Sleeping form 2 - 12 people; four of the cottages are newly built, others apartment style within the large main farmhouse, all of which are self contained. Graded 4 STARS by the English Tourism Council, they are extremely well furnished, offering comfort of a high standard. Guests often comment on how peaceful the farm is even though only a few miles from the nearest seaside town of Paignton. It helps having a half mile private track! Guests are free to roam over the land and through the woods, taking in the abundance of wildlife - buzzards, herons, mallards and the odd cormorant are daily visitors. For dusk walkers, sightings of the resident badgers and rabbits are not uncommon. For resident guests there is free unlimited use of a neighbouring leisure complex - complete with indoor heated swimming pool, learner pool, modern gym, sauna and steam room. And also reduced rates for daily/weekly fishing on the property's 6 coarse fishing lakes. For children there are two outside play areas - one with adult sized trampoline with safety net, swings and slide. The other a sports field with ball games such as football with goal, golfing practice, cricket, professional basketball net and ring, swingball and badminton. Summer 2007 will see the completion of an indoor play area with pool table and table tennis. For alfresco dining there is the Garden field with brick built BBQs and plentiful wooden seating with glorious views over Newbarn Farm's lakes.
